Customized Training

On-the-Job – help employees bridge the skills gap through training provided at your facility. Enhances employee skills and performance on the job while reimbursing the employer up to 50% of the wage rate to offset the costs of training.

Soft Skills Training – improve retention and productivity of workers with training that focuses on communication, teamwork and problem solving. Soft Skills consists of 4 modules that are essential to success in the workplace: conveying professionalism, effective communication, teamwork and collaboration, and critical thinking and problem solving. The training also addresses applied math and reading and location information. If you have employees who can benefit from training in these areas, talk to us.

Paid Work Experience – hire temporary help to temporarily fill employee gaps, perform necessary work while being trained so they learn and earn on the job. Hire one or more employees for skills training who are currently unemployed (they undergo background testing and drug screening at no cost to you). Funding is limited, not guaranteed and may be suspended from time to time. Easy eligibility and application process.

Apprenticeships – participate in or set up an apprenticeship program that allows employees to receive on-the-job training, credentials, mentoring and more. Apprenticeships are expanding across the region in traditional and trending career fields including information technology, healthcare, construction, advanced manufacturing, aerospace and more. Incumbent Worker – discover if your for-profit business qualifies for training grants for customized training of existing full-time employees to add or improve job skills. The Incumbent Worker Training (IWT) program is flexible to meet your training objectives and allows you to use a public, private or in-house training provider. Your company must provide a one-on-one match for each dollar CareerSource Brevard Flagler Volusia invests in training, identify current staff member(s) who are missing a skill or job requirement that you would like to retain or promote, establish a classroom training plan and your employee(s) must meet WIOA or grant eligibility requirements. Funding is limited and not guaranteed. Qualifying criteria applies.

FloridaFlex Quick Response Training (QRT) – Another state incentive grant that provides for a variety of customized training options to attract or train existing employees. The Quick Response Training Program (QRT) awards grant funding for customized training to new or expanding businesses.  The program has been structured to “respond quickly” to meet the business’s training objectives. The Quick Response Training program helps Florida effectively retain and attract businesses creating new high-quality jobs.
