Health care industry representatives, educational partners, workforce development entities and other community stakeholders have come together to develop and implement local health care sector strategies with numerous benefits:

Get a Quick Start on a New Career as a Certified Nursing Assistant

Individuals looking to enter a career that is rewarding and has strong job growth can find both as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). Scholarships for a free program that provides education and training for CNA certification is available from CareerSource Brevard Flagler Volusia.

Nursing is a lucrative career path with job security. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, CNA employment is expected to grow by 8 percent from 2020 to 2030 and employment of Registered Nurses (RN) is projected to grow by 6 percent. This means that more jobs are being created in health care with a major surge in senior care every day.

CNA Training Can Be Completed in Just Six Weeks!

Participants get help every step of the way, connecting them to services they many need to succeed such as housing, transportation, childcare support, career guidance, mentorship and more. After one year of working as a CNA, graduates may be eligible for a scholarship to progress into other nursing jobs, such as Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) and Registered Nurse (RN), or pursue other health care job training such as Medical Technician, Patient Care Technician, Administrator and more.

Eligibility is based on household income and/or employment at time of application.

How Does the CNA Training Program Work?

  • We know that balancing work and family responsibilities can make starting a new career seem overwhelming. That’s why we’ll be with you every step of the way and connect you to services you may need to help you succeed.
  • Once you’ve completed the CNA training program, you will be connected to rewarding jobs in the health care field.
  • After you get a job, career advisors will work with you to help you succeed in your job to develop career goals.
  • After completing one year of employment as a CNA you may be eligible for a scholarship to achieve your Registered Nurse (RN) license or pursue other free health care job training for other specialties such as Medical Technician, Patient Care Technician, Administrator and more.

This is a FREE training program provided in partnership with Dwyer Workforce Development, a nonprofit health care workforce development program that helps people pursue a career.
