NextGen/Young Adult Services

NextGen/Young Adult Services is a free program at CareerSource Brevard Flagler Volusia for eligible young adults ages 16-24 seeking to gain work experience, enter the job market and plan for or launch a career.

NextGen/Young Adult Might be Right for You If:

  • You are 16-24 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent and not attending school.
  • You are a college or Job Corps student under 25 nearing completion of a certificate or degree program, or you are a recent graduate of a college or Job Corps program.
  • You are under 25 and attending an adult education program and nearing completion of a high school diploma or GED.
  • You are at least 16 and a high school student who has been referred by a school-to-work transition, alternative education, or community/faith-based program. Referral required.
  • No high school diploma? Inquire about GED and other continuing education programs.

We are now accepting applications for 2025 PAID part-time summer jobs. Apply by May 5, 2025 by:

  1. Fill out this application.
  2. Attend eligibility and information session on the date assigned, held in early May.
  3. Attend a two-day pre-employment workshop, held in late May/early June.
  4. Start your job! Jobs start June 16th and end July 25th. 

*This program is available to current high school juniors and graduating seniors on free or reduced lunch. Updated March 5, 2025.

What can NextGen Do for You?

  • Identify job opportunities you may qualify for now
  • Research job industries, identify potential career options you’re interested in pursuing, and receive guidance on “next steps”
  • Learn new skills
  • Provide job readiness training for resume writing, interview skills, and more
  • Teach you how to market your skills to potential employers
  • Find On-The-Job Training (OJT) or a paid internship to gain experience
  • Give honest, objective feedback about your level of employment readiness to help you compete for and keep a job
  • Provide one year of follow-along support after your employment goal is reached.

Program participants must register with Employ Florida. This enables you to get referrals to all of our job listings. If you locate a job that does not provide detailed information, please talk to a career advisor for assistance.

CareerSource Brevard Flagler Volusia partners with Job Corps, the largest residential education and training program in the U.S. for ages 16-24 who are from low-income families, are eligible to work in the U.S., and are motivated to learn.
